Gloria Mandelik is a renowned dancer, choreographer and teacher of Classical Ballet. Thanks to her intellectual and artistic inquisitiveness, she has also dedicated a good part of her creative energies to exploring other forms of dance, namely Spanish and Indian.
Ms. Mandelik's oeuvre therefore, is a unique collection of ballets, some of which are purely balletic in nature, while others fuse or juxtapose elements of Spanish and Indian dance with Classical Ballet. The distinctive style, unprecedented and label-defying nature of her work as a dancer and choreographer have elicited unanimous praise from critics and public alike.
Thanks to her profound knowledge of other dance forms, the depth of perception and attention to detail she brings to her teaching of Classical Ballet enhances the vision she brings to her choreographies and communicates to her students. Many of these have gone on to achieve artistic distinction of their own, attesting to the care and dedication she focuses on her pedagogical endeavours.
In 2011 the Gloria Mandelik Dance Company toured India at the invitation of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, performing to full houses and standing ovations.
